the girls dance

hand in hand, pink frosting 

on their lips.

the flash goes off,

their world goes white,

and film jumps out of the slot.

pastel bows knot their hair,

and cheeks are flushed, kissed

by the sun. 

the girls belt out the words,

hand in hand, swaying to their 

treasured tune.
